#iwentfirst: Being BeautiFULL

This picture represents a woman that has (and still is) learning to love the skin she's in.

While it has thickened over the years due to hurt, loss, disappointments and just life in general, I am finally in a space that allows me to see the beauty so many have seen before me.

I went first in education earning an MBA with two young children at home while working full-time.

I went first in acknowledging the pain that was involuntarily inflicted on me as a child.

I went first in sharing my story from my point-of-view, without worrying about the judgement that was going to placed upon me.

I went first in accepting the idea that I have NOTHING to be ashamed of and EVERYTHING to be proud of, as I was once broken and now feel more together than ever.

I went first in being brave when others thought I should remain silent. I went first when others thought I was too ambitious.

I went first when others were too frightened and needed a guiding light.

I went first so that someone else may decide to do the same.

I went first and I will continue to GO, continue to GROW, continue to LOVE, continue to THRIVE, continue to FIGHT, continue to INSPIRE and continue to be SEEN. I am BeautiFull!
